An enthusiastic group of FSO fans has been out in the community, raising visibility and creating excitement about the orchestra. For the past year and a half, the group has appeared at a variety of events, and they’re slated to be out and about this summer at the Crim and other local festivals.
“You just never know where we’ll show up!” said Audience Services Manager, Cathy Prevett, who coordinates the group. “It is fun to go places where people are surprised to see us, like at the Farmers’ Market. Shoppers were surprised and very receptive to our enthusiasm for the FSO.”
“It’s a lot of fun being out there to promote the symphony,” said Crescendo Club member, Jeanne Montooth. Not only does she enjoy the new friends she’s made in the group, Montooth likes the activities as well. “We show up at summer concerts (below) and at the Farmers’ Market, and Cathy always has her tickets along,” she said. After introducing the speaker at one of the FSO’s PreConcert Talks, Montooth commented, “It’s fascinating to see how things work behind the scenes!”
